- Thirty four years after the death of the legendary artist Oum Kalsoum, Tamdeen Shopping Centres, in collaboration with the Arab World Institute in Paris has organized the exhibition “Oum Kalsoum- The fourth Pyramid” in the State of Kuwait at 360 MALL.
- On its second exhibit outside Europe, this outstanding display provides a unique opportunity to view and embrace the achievements of Oum Kalsoum’s lifestyle for visitors and residents in Kuwait.
- While respecting the original concept and content of the exhibition that has been created in Paris, Melablu Interiors have recreated a distinguished layout that explores the personality and legacy of one of the most revered Arab figures.
- The display features four sections, each showcasing a medley of multimedia sequences, personal belongings, archived documents and contemporary art works. The first section of the display entitled “Icon”, embraces the persona of Oum Kalsoum, her social milieu and the prevailing socio-cultural conditions that influenced her and eventually formed her career. The second section entitled “Talent”, illustrates the ambitious singer, and highlights the sources of her success. The third section entitled “Activism”, reveals Oum Kalsoum in her political life as a feminist as well as a symbol for Arab nationalism. Lastly, the fourth section entitled “Heritage” showcases a number of artworks that illustrate different images of Oum Kalsoum.
- In addition to the exhibition, the Oum Kalsoum Café provides a pleasant and relaxing setting for visitors to listen and appreciate the songs of the Diva.
- Hosting such renowned exhibitions in Kuwait is another initiative of Tamdeen Shopping Centres’ endeavors that promote art and culture in Kuwait.
